      Men from Washington Co., enlisted in Companies E & F: William C. Chappell, A. J. Robins, GIDEON KEESEE, enrolled on Aug 27, 1861 in Captain George Campbell's Company F. The KEESEE'S were a prominent Methodist family in Washington County. Gideon's father William, was a trustee of the Chappell Hill Male and Female Institute as early as 1850."
