George Washington Keesee, 68, died at 4 a.m., Saturday after a long illness in Hendrick Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Hawley United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Jerry E. Klaverweiden, pastor, will officate, assisted by the Rev. Dalton Fisher, pastor of the Baird United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Ft. Phantom Hill Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Mr. Keesee was born Aug. 31, 1905, in Coke County. He was a member of the Hawley United Methodist Church and a farmer. He married Dolly Oriole Willingham on Sept. 16, 1932 in Nugent. He had moved to Nugent in 1917. He is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, George Wayne of Abilene, Mack of Abilene, and Bob of Hawley; five daughters, Mrs. J. A. (Emma Lee) Middleton, of Abilene, Mrs. Dan (Maudene) Gilbreath of San Antonio, Mrs. Clarence (Ann) Tajchman of Abilene, Mrs. Leonard (Dolly) Dodgen of Abilene and Mrs. Wayne (Patsy) Fuqua of Arlington; one brother, Wilburn Keesee of Abilene, and 24 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Herman Haynes, Bill Hampton, B. R. Doty, Lem Ruark, Bernie Newton and Waymon Howard.
